A box bedroom in Manchester with room for sleep, study and a DJ set-up.
See the renders ↓Three jobs, one small room
A bedroom for a teenager who spends as much time mixing music as sleeping. It is a typical UK box room, so the bed, a proper desk for a DJ controller and screen, and storage for everything else all had to fit without the room feeling cramped.
The layout puts the long desk along one wall, the bed in a nook against the other and the storage overhead, so the floor stays clear.

Off-the-shelf, made to look built-in
The family wanted to use IKEA storage to keep the budget where it mattered. A full wall of tall white wardrobes and wall cabinets, with LED strips underneath, reads as fitted joinery. A long oak worktop across drawer units gives a desk wide enough for the decks and a monitor, and oak slatted panelling behind the desk and bed ties it together.

Personality in the details
Charcoal textured walls, a ceiling track of black spotlights and a backlit pop art print give the room its character. We rendered it in daylight and in the evening, so the family could see that everything fits, and how it feels at night, before buying a single unit.
